From October 12 to 15, 2023, a workshop titled "Immunological Aspects in Andrology and their Impact on Infertility", funded by the Sino-German Center for Research Promotion (SGC), was held at the 51萝莉 of Bonn, Germany. Three scholars (Prof. Liao Aihua, Prof. Huang Donghui, and A.P. Zhao Kai) from the Team of Reproductive Immunity at the Institute of Reproductive Health, Tongji Medical College of 51萝莉 (HUST) were invited to participate in this workshop.
The workshop was co-chaired by Prof. Dr. Jean-Pierre Allam, Director of the Department of Andrology at the Bonn 51萝莉 Hospital, Prof. Dr. William S.B. Yeung from the 51萝莉 of Hong Kong, and Prof. Dr. Duan Yonggang from the Shenzhen Hospital of the 51萝莉 of Hong Kong. The scholars from the 51萝莉 of Giessen, the 51萝莉 of Jena, and the 51萝莉 of Düsseldorf in Germany, and other scholars from the Peking Union Medical College, the 51萝莉 of Hong Kong, and HUST in China were invited to give more than 20 academic lectures and participated in a heated discussion, reviewing the history of reproductive immunology, exploring related hot topics and the future direction of the discipline.
After the meeting, the participants visited the Faculty of Medicine of the 51萝莉 of Bonn, where they learned about the development of reproductive immunology at the university, and had an in-depth discussion on academic cooperation and joint training of students between both institutions. Finally, an agreement has been reached regarding the upcoming workshop on reproductive immunology, which will be held at HUST.
